Since I officially started weight watchers yesterday I figured this would be a good thing for me to do on the blog, especially since I will not be attending meetings. I need some type of accountability and hopefully if I know I have to post my weight loss (or gain) for the week I will be a little bit more focused on not straying from the diet. I am doing this with a friend so hopefully that can be some accountability and a source of encouragement as well. I recently fractured my ankle so I can't start working out yet but this coming Friday I am cleared for working out again! So far it's going good but I am also only on the second day. I have an ideal weight loss that I would like to accomplish and I know it's going to take a while but I think Weight Watchers is the best way to go, as well as the healthiest. So here's to yet another new journey!

Getting a little political

So it is not my intentions at all for this blog to become a political blog where I let it be known my viewpoints on everything. However as I was reading this article, it really made me think about some things. Tim Tebow is a Heisman winning quaterback who played for the Florida Gators. Now I am in no way a fan of the Florida Gators, but I am a fan of Tim Tebow. Tebow has been made the center of many jokes and I am not quite sure why. He is a christian and he lets everyone know. Why is that a bad thing and why does that make one the butt of jokes. During the SEC championship and email was circulated and it was the Tebow drinking game. Part of the instructions was to drink every time Tebow mentioned God or Jesus of the announcers talked about the verse he had painted on his face. I personally think Tebow is the best thing that has happened to college sports and in the future professional sports. He is someone that is a role model in every sense of the word. Many people say professional athletes don't owe it to people to be good role models. I think that is a load of crap. They are in the public eye and at one point in their lives they were little boys too watching TV and picking out their favorite athletes who became their idols. I would be so proud of my (future) children if they chose Tim Tebow to be their idol. Tebow is appearing in an ad in the upcoming super bowl that is a pro life ad. Now while I personally do not believe in abortions but I am still pro choice as I think it should be up to the woman not the government. But that is my personal conviction. I found an article that talks about the upcoming ad and the responsibilities of athletes. It is a GREAT read and I really really encourage you to read it.

I will leave you with a picture of Tebow. He's not that bad to look at.

Bring on the Snow.

So where I live we are supposed to be getting a lot of snow and a lot of ice starting tonight and going on all day tomorrow as well. All the news stations are telling us to get ready because this will be a major winter storm and we will probably lose our power and be stuck inside until at least Monday when things start to clear up and melt away. I usually don't follow all of the hype because in North Carolina people will clear a grocery store for a twenty percent chance of snow, but this time I think they're telling the truth. And to be completely honest, I am super excited about it. Hopefully we wont lose power but besides that I think that fact of being snowed in is romantic. I am in a long distance relationship so this will be the last weekend my boyfriend will be in town for quite some time. So the idea of it just being the two of us locked in watching the snow fall down and movies sounds pretty good to me. I have my grocery list completed and all my recipes laid out of what I'm making. I am doing a roast in the crock pot, poppyseed chicken casserole, tomato soup and french onion soup. As well as some muffins. Our water jugs are filled in case we do lose power and we have our extra blankets laid out and ready. The flashlights have new batteries and we have enough dog food to last us through the weekend. So here's to a good snow and a good weekend being stuck in it. Everyone stay warm and safe this weekend! I'll leave you with some pictures of our last big snow in December!

Sing me a song

I love music. It was such an exciting game. I love my school dearly and I love our sports team even more, however it is no lie that during the last couple of years we have not been so hot. In fact it would be fair to say at times we have sucked. They show glimpses of hope by winning a big game they were not supposed to only to go on a losing streak for the rest of the season. This hurts. It has taught me however to not get my hopes up and to appreciate those wins even more. Hopefully they will get it together in the next couple of years. I am not giving up yet. Hopefully this can be the first of many wins this season. And hopefully I will be able to drink during the future games aka my liver detox will be done!

Trying something new.

Well I have finally taken the plunge and started my own blog.
